Anne-Marie Audet, MD, MSc, SM, FACP is Assistant Vice President for Quality Improvement at The Commonwealth Fund. She received her medical degree and her masters in Epidemiology from McGill University. Dr. Audet completed her internal medicine residency and fellowship training in clinical decision analysis and health services research at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston. She holds a Master of Science degree in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Audet has worked at the American College of Physicians (ACP), Philadelphia, in the Health and Public Policy Division. Her principal areas of interest while at the ACP included the development, dissemination and implementation of clinical practice guidelines. She also served as a consultant to the Institute of Medicine Committee on Clinical Practice Guidelines, and advisor to the AMA Practice Parameter Partnership.
In the past decade, Dr. Audet has developed expertise in the area of quality of care assessment and improvement. She has published a critical review of the proposed national database for the Medicare quality of care program, as well as a proposal for a national quality assurance program based on CQI principles. She has worked for the Massachusetts Peer Review Organization, Inc. as the Associate Medical Director for Quality Improvement. In this role, Dr. Audet was responsible for developing statewide collaborative projects that demonstrated measurable improvement in the quality of care provided to Medicare beneficiaries. Dr. Audet also worked as Senior Director for CareGroup's Center for Quality and Value and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Department of Health Care Quality. As of November 27th, 2000 she joined The Commonwealth Fund. As Senior Program Officer for Quality Improvement, she will be responsible for leading the fund's new program on health care quality.
